Job Description
Empower young learners and help shape their futures as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary setting near Saint Paul, MN. This contract opportunity spans the entire academic year, providing a supportive environment to utilize your expertise and passion for special education.
In this role, you’ll work onsite as a full-time SPED Teacher, leading a resource classroom with up to 22 students across multiple grade levels. You’ll have the chance to design and deliver specialized instruction, align interventions with student IEPs, and foster meaningful academic and behavioral growth. By working closely with general education staff, related service providers, and families, you’ll be an integral part of a collaborative educational team.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and valid Minnesota teaching license
- Experience working with students demonstrating emotional and behavioral disorders
- Strong capability to manage a resource room environment and adapt instruction for multiple grade levels
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with colleagues and student families
- Commitment to maintaining comprehensive documentation and supporting IEP implementation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction aligned with IEP goals
- Develop and adjust lesson plans to address unique learning needs and goals
- Track progress and maintain clear and accurate records for each student
- Collaborate with general education staff and related service professionals
- Regularly communicate with families about student progress and strategies for home support
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning atmosphere for all students
