Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Deliver professional pharmacy services within a community grocery store pharmacy setting, ensuring safe and accurate medication dispensing and excellent patient care. This contract opportunity based in Tularosa, NM, offers a structured schedule with a focus on retail pharmacy operations and team supervision.

Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Closed weekends and six major holidays at the primary location
  • Occasional weekend coverage required at secondary location

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing, or willingness to obtain prior to start
  • Disclosure and verification of all active and inactive licenses mandatory
  • Minimum one year of experience as a registered pharmacist preferred
  • APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or candidate willing to obtain within 30 days
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
  • Flexibility to cover shifts at a secondary retail location, including occasional weekends
  • Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing skills
  • Comfortable supervising and directing pharmacy technician staff
  • Adaptability to work across multiple retail locations
  • Open to travel and availability for 13 weeks or longer; shorter contracts also considered

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and dispense medication orders accurately in compliance with protocols
  • Maintain accurate patient medication profiles
  • Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians, verifying daily activities
  • Participate in medical emergency responses as part of the pharmacy team
  • Conduct inspections of medication storage areas and identify outdated medications
  • Orient and train new team members as needed
  • Follow infection control protocols across pharmacy operations
