This full-time, onsite assignment spans the school year from August 13 through June 11, allowing you to make a tangible difference every day. Your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired will help foster independence and success for students in grades K-12. This contract position offers a focused caseload and meaningful collaboration with educators and families.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential authorizing Visual Impairments, or
  • California teaching credential with authorization for visually handicapped students (EL CLAD)
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired
  • Strong communication, organizational, and advocacy skills
  • Commitment to onsite instruction; this role does not allow VOCO or hybrid arrangements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative instructional support to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum materials and developing individualized strategies
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and related service providers
  • Assess student progress and maintain thorough documentation to meet IEP goals and state requirements
  • Facilitate orientation, mobility skill-building, and use of adaptive technology
  • Develop strong relationships with families, empowering them to support student growth
