Job Profile Overview

This position emphasizes the use of various imaging techniques to assist in diagnosing and treating patients. Responsibilities include performing Diagnostic Radiology tasks, evaluating physical conditions related to diagnostics, and operating medical imaging equipment. This entry-level role typically requires minimal prior knowledge or experience and necessitates vocational or technical education. Work is generally routine, follows established procedures, and is closely supervised, with communication that requires little explanation.

Job Responsibilities

Conduct radiologic procedures on assigned patients in accordance with departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and objectives. Ensure that all radiologic procedures adhere to safety and accuracy standards, meet the American College of Radiology (ACR) imaging guidelines, and facilitate the radiologist or physician in making a diagnosis. You will be responsible for specific areas and/or procedures as assigned and will collaborate with other departments to ensure quality healthcare delivery.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Radiology or a related field.
• Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT).
• State license for Radiologic Technologist or eligibility for licensure.
• Basic Life Support Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in healthcare.
• Experience with X-Ray.
• Prior experience as a Radiologic Technologist.

Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are intended to outline the general nature of the work and are not exhaustive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

• Perform radiologic procedures on patients as assigned, adhering to policy and radiological standards.
• Confirm patient identity and the procedure to be performed.
• Provide clear and precise instructions to patients.
• Ensure correct imaging protocols, steps, and scanner parameters for each patient.
• Maintain safety for both patients and staff regarding equipment usage.
• Engage in ongoing education and training.
• Conduct quality control on equipment as required.
• Coordinate with other staff and departments to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Manage supply inventory and request orders when necessary.
• Keep work areas clean and functional in compliance with DPH and The Joint Commission standards.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, occasional sitting, walking, and lifting of 30-35 lbs.
• Manual dexterity for operating radiology equipment.
• Hearing and visual acuity sufficient for performing examinations, observing patients, reading monitors, and hearing equipment alarms.
• Exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases.
