This contract opportunity near Danbury, CT is ideal for a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist eager to work collaboratively and provide specialized services to high-functioning preschool and elementary students.
This role offers part-time hours—two days a week from 8:15am to 3:30pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. As an integral member of the speech team, you’ll work closely with a full-time SLP who manages evaluations, PPTs, and overall support, ensuring services are coordinated and effective. The caseload centers around students who benefit from targeted intervention without self-contained programming, allowing you to focus on enhancing their communication strengths within general education settings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Active state licensure and ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) required
- Prior experience in school-based settings, especially with preschool and elementary students, is highly valued
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, including sharing responsibilities for therapy sessions and documentation
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language services to assigned students, splitting sessions in coordination with the full-time SLP
- Develop therapy activities and collaborate on student goals and progress
- Maintain accurate records, communicate with staff and families as needed
- Participate in team meetings and implement best practices in school-based speech services
