Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary and intermediate students across grades K-5. This full-time, onsite position covers 37.5 hours per week, where you’ll split your time between two buildings. As a school counselor, your impact will be felt daily by students and staff alike through your expertise in social-emotional development, academic guidance, and responsive support solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions for students in grades K-5
- Deliver classroom guidance lessons, promoting positive behaviors and healthy coping strategies
- Participate in crisis response, collaborating with staff to ensure safe, nurturing environments for all learners
- Attend and actively contribute to IEP meetings as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Foster strong relationships with staff, families, and community partners to ensure comprehensive student support
We’re seeking candidates with:
- Valid Kansas licensure as a School Counselor (K-12)
- Experience working with elementary and intermediate grade levels is highly preferred
- Skilled in delivering both one-on-one and group interventions
- Confident providing classroom-based guidance lessons
- Ability to navigate crisis intervention and contribute to IEP planning
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
