This contract position offers the chance to work with high-functioning preschool and elementary students in a supportive school environment near Bridgeport, CT. You’ll collaborate closely with a full-time SLP, sharing caseload responsibilities and conducting assessments, all within a two-day-per-week schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current Connecticut SLP licensure and ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP)
  • Experience in school-based settings, especially with preschool and elementary students
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to conduct evaluations, participate in PPTs (Planning and Placement Teams), and deliver individualized therapy

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct speech-language therapy primarily to high-functioning PK and elementary-aged students (no self-contained programming)
  • Share service time with the full-time SLP, ensuring seamless coverage—for example, each SLP provides a session to fulfill twice-weekly requirements for students
  • Participate in evaluations, analyze results, and contribute to IEP development during PPTs
  • Collaborate closely with team members and classroom staff to support students’ communication goals
  • Maintain thorough records of student progress and document all services provided
