Required Skills and Experience:

  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapist (OT) qualification, with appropriate state licensure
  • Previous experience working in a school environment is a strong plus
  • Knowledge of therapeutic techniques relevant to pediatric populations
  • Effective communication abilities for collaborating with educators, parents, and other support staff
  • Strong organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple cases, documentation, and scheduling
  • Commitment to fostering student independence and functional participation within the educational setting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions to students as specified in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs and develop targeted treatment plans
  • Document session progress, maintain thorough records, and support compliance with school and state requirements
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams
