Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students near Warwick, RI, providing essential Occupational Therapy services in a school-based setting. This role offers immediate start, covering both the Extended School Year (ESY) now through August 6th and continuing into the initial months of the school year, with potential for extension. Your skills will make a meaningful difference for a caseload of 14 students receiving critical OT services, particularly to address and make up for previously missed sessions.
Key Qualifications:
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Rhode Island
- Experience working with pediatric and school-aged populations, preferably in educational settings
- Familiarity with IEP processes and individualized goal development
- Strong communication skills, both with students and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt services and strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Prompt availability to begin assignment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy evaluations, interventions, and progress monitoring for students in accordance with their IEPs
- Develop and implement therapy activities that promote student participation and functional independence in classroom and school environments
- Collaborate closely with special education staff, administrators, and families to support student goals
- Maintain clear and thorough documentation of services provided and progress toward IEP objectives
- Participate in IEP meetings as needed, providing input and recommendations for ongoing student support
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and timelines
