Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity in the Monterey, CA area, focused on making a difference for elementary and PreK students. This full-time position offers 30 hours per week at a single site in Moss Landing, working directly with children to support their development and growth as a School-Based Occupational Therapist.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license for California
- Experience providing OT services in school settings, particularly with elementary and preschool-aged students
- Strong understanding of pediatric practice in educational environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with teachers, staff, and families
- Ability to independently manage caseload and documentation requirements
- Commitment to professional ethics and best practices in school-based occupational therapy
- Only licensed OTs considered (no COTA)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive OT assessments for students aged PreK to elementary
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans in collaboration with educational teams
- Support students’ participation in classroom and school activities by addressing fine motor, sensory, and self-help skills
- Generate progress reports and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Provide guidance to educators and caregivers in adapting activities and environments for student success
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
