School Occupational Therapist - Cicero, Illinois
Job Description
Make a meaningful difference for K-8 students by supporting their growth and success through hands-on Occupational Therapy. This part-time contract opportunity allows you to apply your experience and expertise across two to three school campuses, working with a diverse population to enhance student engagement, participation, and independence.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with educators and families to design and implement therapeutic strategies that meet each student’s unique needs. With a flexible schedule of just 20 hours per week, split over two or three days, you’ll have the chance to balance your work with other commitments while making a positive impact in these school communities.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field from an accredited university
- Illinois state licensure as an Occupational Therapist and registration with the Illinois Department of Financial Professional Regulations (IDFPR)
- Minimum of three years of Occupational Therapy experience, including at least three years in a school setting
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Passion for empowering students from kindergarten through eighth grade
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services to students, helping them improve fine/gross motor skills and daily functioning in the educational setting
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and monitor progress
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to design supportive interventions
- Travel between two to three school campuses in the North Chicago/Waukegan area
