Pharmacist | Norristown, Pennsylvania

A reputable academic medical center is seeking a licensed Pharmacist for a contract position lasting 3 to 6 months. This role is based in Norristown, PA, and requires full commitment to the contract duration. Candidates must be prepared to engage in a fast-paced, high acuity environment serving an underserved urban community.

Location: Norristown, PA
Schedule:

• AM Shift (07:00 - 15:30)
• 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (40 hours total)

Responsibilities:

• Review medication orders from physicians and extenders, ensuring correct drug, dose, route, and frequency
• Screen for potential clinical conflicts including allergies, interactions, and lab results before dispensing
• Provide drug information to healthcare team members
• Supervise pharmacy students and technicians to ensure accuracy and safety in medication preparation
• Participate in patient continuum of care and discharge planning
• Maintain inventory control in the pharmacy
• Follow medication safety and quality assurance protocols, especially in error and high dose situations

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Active and good standing PA Pharmacist license mandatory
• Bachelor’s degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
• Minimum 1 year hospital experience or clinical APPE preferred
• Experience with EPIC Dispense Prep system required; familiarity with EPIC Camera Verification strongly preferred
• Sterile compounding and IV room experience required
• Basic Life Support certification preferred
