Caseload: Mostly Elementary School
We are hiring Special Education Paraprofessionals with hands-on behavior experience for full-time roles across Cape Cod, MA. This position focuses primarily on supporting elementary students who display challenging behaviors, helping them regulate, access their curriculum, and build positive social-emotional skills in a structured classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct classroom and 1:1 support to elementary students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Implement behavior strategies and support plans under the direction of lead teachers and classroom specialists.
Utilize de-escalation techniques, positive reinforcement, and practical behavior management to handle classroom disruptions.
Help students stay focused, build coping strategies, and transition smoothly throughout the school day.
Foster a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
Behavior Experience: Solid, practical experience working with children who exhibit challenging behaviors (e.g., in special education, behavioral programs, or youth support roles).
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Skills: Strong boundary-setting abilities, patience, resilience, and excellent communication skills.
