Position Description: Housekeeper

Reports to: Executive Director (Primary), Assistant Director (Secondary)

The Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, welcoming, and dignified environment for residents and guests of The Home. This position requires strong integrity, respect for privacy, and a friendly professional disposition. Trust is essential. Staff are expected to always carry themselves with the highest level of discretion and ethical conduct. Pay based on experience.

• Complete cleaning of assigned areas thoroughly and consistently.
• Follow sanitation and Safety Protocols.
• Communicate maintenance concerns promptly either mechanical or in areas of The Home.
• Keep inventory of all chemicals and items needed for the job.
• Carry a positive, respectful, and friendly demeanor.
• Demonstrate integrity and accountability in all tasks.

Weekly Cleaning Schedule

Monday

Upstairs Apartments/ Directors Suite (2nd &3rd floors)

In the absence of an on-site director, routine maintenance and cleaning of the areas include:

• Vacuum all areas
• Mop all areas
• Dust surfaces
• Bathrooms (upon discretion)
• Wipe windows (if needed)

Stairwell to 2nd and 3rd floors

• Vacuum steps
• Mop hard wood floor
• Wipe down rails

Library

• Dust Shelves
• Vacuum hall

Salon

• Sweep
• Mop
• Empty Trash

Guest Bedroom (in library hall #24)- As needed following stay

• Vacuum
• Mop
• Completely clean bathroom (tub, toilet, sink, mirror, sweep and mop)
• Restock if needed
• Dust all surfaces and Blinds.
• Wash and Change bedding/linens if needed

Tuesday

West Hall Right side (All Rooms)

• Dust surfaces and Blinds
• Completely clean bathrooms (tub, toilet, sink, mirror, sweep and mop)
• Vacuum

Living room

• Dust surfaces
• Vacuum

Craft rooms

• Vacuum
• Remove trash

Wednesday

West Hall- Left side (All Rooms)

• Dust surfaces and Blinds
• Completely clean bathrooms (tub, toilet, sink, mirror, sweep and mop)
• Vacuum

Sunroom

• Trash removal
• Dust
• Wipe doors
• Vacuum

Elevator

• Vacuum
• Disinfect rails/ door handles/ Phone/ buttons

Hall to be vacuumed as well as side utility room. Disinfect handrails and light switches weekly.

Thursday

East Hall- Right side (All rooms)

• Dust surfaces and Blinds
• Completely clean bathrooms (tub, toilet, sink, mirror, sweep and mop)
• Vacuum

Front Foyer

• Vacuum
• Dust
• Widows/ Door wiped down

Office

• Dust/ Orange Glow surfaces
• Vacuum

Friday

East Hall- Left Side (All Rooms)

• Dust surfaces and Blinds
• Completely clean bathrooms (tub, toilet, sink, mirror, sweep and mop)
• Vacuum

Sunroom

• Trash removal
• Dust
• Wipe doors
• Vacuum

Snack room

• Vacuum
• Trash removed
• Wipe down snack bar / coffee tray
• Bathroom cleaned/ restocked
• Dust cabinets/ silver tray on display

(occasionally will need to polish silver)

Hall to be vacuumed as well as side utility room. Disinfect handrails and light switches weekly.

Salary/Compensation: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
