Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An 8-week pharmacy opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical care in a long-term care (LTC) mail order environment. This contract position offers two shift options—8:30 am to 5:00 pm or 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm—with a Monday through Friday schedule and rotating Saturdays every other week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, review, and dispense prescription medications accurately.
  • Monitor medication compliance and detect over-usage or potential issues.
  • Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate and legally dispensed.
  • Maintain confidential and precise patient records and pharmacy documentation.
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, possible side effects, and answer inquiries.
  • Provide consultation on prescription and over-the-counter medications including dosage and drug interactions.
  • Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications both sterile and non-sterile following established procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerical staff to maintain efficient operations.
  • Manage pharmaceutical inventory to ensure adequate supply.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related problems.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
  • Active Nevada Pharmacy license.
  • Experience in Long Term Care pharmacy settings is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medication management, patient counseling, and pharmacy regulations.
  • Ability to lead and supervise pharmacy staff effectively.

Location:

  • Positioned in Sparks, Nevada, with the option of two convenient shifts.
