Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate science endorsement(s).
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, instructional planning, and classroom management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience teaching middle school science is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and adapt science curriculum aligned with grade-level standards for 8th grade.
  • Create an inclusive, positive, and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, projects, and state assessments, offering constructive feedback to guide improvement.
  • Collaborate with other faculty, administrators, and families to support each student’s success.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and performance.
  • Actively participate in school meetings, professional development, and community engagement activities.

Position Details:

  • Full-time, contract role from August 17 to May 27, 2027.
  • Onsite presence required; remote options (VOCO) are not available.
  • Caseload involves teaching 8th Grade Science exclusively.
