Make a daily impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting young learners with special needs in community preschools throughout the Morton, PA area. You’ll serve as an itinerant educator, working with a caseload of approximately 30 preschool students as you travel to various local sites. This contract opportunity offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., totaling 35 hours each week.

As you step into this dynamic role, you’ll collaborate closely with students, caregivers, and preschool staff, helping to create inclusive, supportive classroom environments. Comprehensive training and ongoing guidance will be provided, ensuring a smooth transition and continuous professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in PK-4 and/or Special Education (emergency permits not accepted)
  • Solid understanding of preschool educational needs and strategies for individualized instruction
  • Experience working with children who have special education needs, preferably in early childhood or preschool settings
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to travel to multiple community preschool locations within the assigned area

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to students per their IEPs in various preschool settings
  • Collaborate with families, support staff, and administrators to develop and implement learning plans
  • Document progress, maintain up-to-date student records, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Adapt teaching materials and approaches to meet the unique needs of each child
