General Education Teacher | Woonsocket, Rhode Island

This contract role focuses on teaching general science across 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, working with a manageable group of around 20 students. The academic calendar begins with the first day for teachers on August 24th, and students joining on August 31st. Your enthusiasm and expertise will engage young learners, creating a dynamic classroom environment that makes complicated concepts accessible and exciting.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification for General Education at the Middle School level
• Previous classroom experience teaching Science to middle school students
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to design and deliver engaging science lessons in a variety of topics
• Passion for fostering a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and implement engaging science curriculum for grades 6-8
• Foster student curiosity and understanding through hands-on activities and thoughtful discussion
• Assess student progress, provide timely feedback, and offer individualized support as needed
• Collaborate with fellow educators to enrich the academic experience
• Maintain a positive learning environment where each student feels encouraged to participate

You’ll be teaching at a conveniently located campus, with school hours running from 7:45 AM to 2:55 PM—allowing for a consistent daily schedule and time for after-school planning or personal responsibilities.
