Job Description
Step into a dynamic educational setting as a school-based Occupational Therapist, working with early childhood learners for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time contract position offers flexibility, with a choice of either two or three days per week (.4 or .6 FTE), allowing for a balanced schedule. You’ll be supporting children in early childhood programs, providing vital OT services that foster student growth and independence. The ability to travel between locations within the Winnetka Preschool Consortium is essential.
Desired Skills and Requirements:
- Current certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Illinois Occupational Therapy licensure or eligibility
- Experience with early childhood and/or special education populations strongly preferred
- Capacity to travel to multiple school sites within the local consortium
- Strong collaboration skills to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to early childhood students in accordance with IEPs
- Develop and implement individualized and group interventions to promote fine motor, sensory, and self-help skills
- Participate in comprehensive team meetings to support each child’s learning and developmental goals
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
- Collaborate with educators, families, and specialists to integrate OT strategies into classroom routines
