Job Description
Immerse yourself in a rewarding opportunity as a Music Teacher working with vibrant K-2 students in a well-supported school environment. This full-time, onsite role covers the school year from August 17 through May 27, 2027, providing the chance to inspire young learners and foster a lifelong appreciation for music at the foundational stages of their education.
You’ll work with enthusiastic early elementary students, designing and delivering engaging music lessons tailored to their developmental levels. The focus is on creative, hands-on instruction that makes music accessible, enjoyable, and educational for every child.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a closely related field required
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate music endorsement(s)
- Solid background in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom instruction
- Excellent communication skills to connect with both young learners and colleagues
Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach music classes for K-2 students onsite, adapting methods to suit various learning styles and abilities
- Develop a nurturing classroom environment where creativity and self-expression are encouraged
- Collaborate with grade-level teams to coordinate curriculum and integrate music with broader learning objectives
- Assess and report on student progress, providing feedback to parents and school staff as needed
- Participate in school events, performances, and professional development activities
