Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education endorsement
  • Previous experience in a self-contained classroom or working with students with diverse learning needs
  • Strong classroom management skills and familiarity with IEP processes
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and families
  • Adaptable and proactive attitude with a passion for advocacy and differentiated instruction

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and IEP goals
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student growth and engagement
  • Monitor, document, and communicate student progress towards goals
  • Collaborate with other educators, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure cohesive support
  • Engage families in ongoing conversations about student needs, progress, and strategies for success
