Job Description
Make a meaningful difference in young learners’ lives by supporting early childhood education as an Occupational Therapist in a dynamic Illinois school setting. In this contract, part-time opportunity, you will work two or three days per week (.4 or .6 FTE) during the 2026-2027 school year, focusing on early childhood students within a collaborative and innovative educational environment. The position is based in North Chicago and involves travel within the Winnetka Preschool Consortium, offering variety in your daily experiences and the chance to work with a diverse team of professionals.
What You’ll Need:
- Current certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Illinois state licensure in Occupational Therapy (active and in good standing)
- Experience working in early childhood or special education settings (highly preferred)
- Flexibility to travel across multiple schools within the preschool consortium
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with teachers, staff, and families
- Ability to adapt occupational therapy interventions to support young children’s developmental and educational goals
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Conducting assessments and evaluations for early childhood students with developmental needs
- Collaborating with educators, special education staff, and families to develop and implement individualized occupational therapy plans
- Supporting students’ fine motor, sensory, and self-help skill development in alignment with IEP goals
- Educating and training staff and families to reinforce strategies and adaptations in daily routines
- Documenting progress, participating in IEP meetings, and contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture
