Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to join a dynamic pharmacy team in the Fridley/Minneapolis area for an 8-week contract. This role requires a flexible professional ready to work varying shifts between 9:30 AM and 8:30 PM, including rotating weekends.
Location:
- Fridley/Minneapolis area, MN
Schedule:
- Flexible shifts: 9:30 AM–6:00 PM, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM–8:30 PM
- Weekend rotation (Saturday and Sunday)
Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of over-usage
- Ensure medication supply complies with legal standards and prescriptions are appropriate
- Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision
- Advise patients on medication usage, potential reactions, and answer medication-related inquiries
- Provide consultation on prescription and over-the-counter medications including dosage, side effects, and drug interactions
- Offer clinical services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on correct usage of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
- Compound medications for internal and external application, including sterile solution preparation
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks
- Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively
- Identify and communicate drug-related problems to healthcare providers
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns to optimize patient care
Qualifications and Experience:
- MN pharmacist license in hand
- Willingness to train retail pharmacists; no prior retail experience required
- Strong communication and supervisory skills
- Commitment to patient care and medication safety
