Make an impact supporting the growth and development of young learners as a dedicated teacher for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. A full-time contract opportunity is available for an experienced educator passionate about providing specialized instruction to PreK children. This position begins August 19th and offers the rewarding chance to empower students in their earliest educational experiences.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field
- Experience supporting PreK-age children is highly valued
- Familiarity with evidence-based instructional strategies for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency with assistive technology and visual communication methods (e.g., ASL, cued speech) preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction to support language, academic, and social development for Deaf/Hard of Hearing PreK students
- Collaborate with educational staff, families, and related service providers to implement each learner’s IEP
- Modify curriculum materials and classroom environments for full accessibility
- Provide support, guidance, and resources to staff and families regarding Deaf education best practices
- Maintain thorough documentation of progress in alignment with regulatory and program standards
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and language-rich classroom atmosphere
