\nHours: Part time / 16 hours weekly
\nNo weekends or holidays!
\nMercy Hospital South is seeking a dedicated Co-worker Health Nurse to join our team. This critical role supports the health and safety of our co-workers from day one, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and promoting a culture of wellness throughout the organization.
\nKey Responsibilities:

- Serve as a primary health resource for all co-workers, starting with onboarding and continuing throughout their employment. \n
- Plan, organize, and direct all activities of Co-worker Health Services in alignment with federal/state regulations and agency requirements. \n
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments for new hires, including drug screening, medical history review, lab work, chest x-rays (if indicated), and immunization verification. \n
- Administer and manage the TB skin screening program in compliance with state guidelines. \n
- Perform respirator fit testing and training as needed. \n
- Promote and administer annual influenza and other vaccines, ensuring co-workers are informed about contraindications, side effects, and precautions. \n
- Provide first aid and follow-up care for on-the-job injuries, collaborating with departments and supervisors to support recovery and return-to-work plans. \n
- May serve as Workers' Compensation coordinator, managing injury documentation, treatment facilitation, and communication with internal and external stakeholders. \n
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all co-worker health records and sensitive information. \n
- Compile and present monthly and annual reports to support compliance with Joint Commission, state health departments, and other regulatory bodies. \n
- Stay current on Co-worker Health trends and regulations, updating policies and procedures accordingly. \n
- Participate in and support wellness, needlestick safety, and environmental safety committees. \n
- Uphold Mercy's mission, values, and service standards in all interactions and duties. \n
- Communicate effectively through clear, concise verbal and written updates related to co-worker health operations. \n
- Perform other duties as assigned. \n
Qualifications:
\n- \n
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN or RN) \n
- Licensure: Current Missouri nursing license (LPN or RN) \n
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a hospital or clinical setting \n
- Certifications: BLS certification required \n
