Step into a rewarding role making a difference in the lives of students as an on-site Physical Therapist supporting two school sites on a contract basis. This position, based near Tecumseh, KS, offers the flexibility of working 16-24 hours per week, with the possibility to increase hours up to 30 as needs arise and with approval.

Use your expertise to support students in achieving their physical development milestones and help foster their independence within educational settings. You’ll work closely with teachers, school staff, and families to collaboratively create a nurturing, inclusive environment for every child you serve.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid Physical Therapy license in Kansas
  • Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric therapy setting strongly preferred
  • Ability to adapt services for diverse physical, sensory, and cognitive needs
  • Strong skills in assessment, treatment planning, and documentation
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Flexibility to travel between two nearby school sites

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough student assessments and develop individualized plans to support physical development
  • Deliver direct therapy services as outlined in students’ IEPs
  • Collaborate with special educators, general teachers, school staff, and parents to ensure coordinated care
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with school and state requirements
  • Support staff with training or strategies to implement motor skill interventions within classroom routines
  • Monitor progress and adjust therapeutic strategies as needed
  • Travel between two schools to provide services where needed
