Step into a dynamic early childhood setting as an influential educator, supporting the language development and academic foundations of PreK students. This full-time contract opportunity, spanning August 17 through May 27, 2027, centers on an onsite classroom position working with young learners whose primary language is not English.
You will take the lead as a considered Dual Language Teacher, collaborating with colleagues to bridge cultures and foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment. Your experience as a General Education or ESL Teacher will empower you to tailor curriculum and instruction for English language learners, ensuring each child thrives during these formative years.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with applicable endorsements.
- Knowledge of early childhood curriculum planning, instructional design, and assessment.
- Ability to differentiate lessons for English second language students.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous work in PreK and/or dual language/ESL settings strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans for PreK English learners.
- Foster a supportive and culturally responsive classroom where every student feels valued.
- Use formative and summative assessments to adjust instruction and support individual learning goals.
- Collaborate with families and other educators to promote holistic student growth.
- Document progress and communicate student needs effectively.
