Job Description
Step into a pivotal support role in school-based speech-language pathology as a contract SLPA for the upcoming academic term. Work full-time (35 hours per week) for a dynamic district on the Southeast Texas Coast. This assignment begins August 10, 2026, and runs through September 25, 2026, with the possibility for extension based on district needs. As an SLPA, you will provide essential assistance during the first 6 weeks of the year while the district’s direct hires complete licensure requirements by observing caseloads. Up to 4 SLPAs are needed, and you’ll be joining a collaborative team to help students start their year strong. Specific campus assignments and caseload details will be finalized following an upcoming meeting with district leadership.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Texas SLPA license required
- Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills and adaptability to diverse student populations
- Ability to collaborate effectively with supervising SLPs and educational staff
- Flexibility to work across multiple campuses as needed
- Must be able to meet fingerprint/background check requirements promptly
Role Responsibilities:
- Support delivery of speech and language interventions under SLP supervision
- Assist with documentation and progress monitoring for a diverse student caseload (grade levels and specific numbers to be confirmed)
- Foster inclusive, supportive learning environments in assigned schools
- Communicate consistently with supervising SLPs and contribute to team meetings
- Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
