Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A community-focused retail pharmacy position is available in La Luz, NM, offering a dynamic environment to provide exceptional pharmaceutical care. This contract role provides an opportunity to support patient health through accurate medication dispensing and effective counseling within a grocery store pharmacy setting.

Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Weekends closed at primary location (six major holidays observed)
  • Occasional weekend coverage required at secondary location

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing or willingness to obtain before start
  • Disclosure and verification of all active/inactive licenses required
  • Minimum one year of registered pharmacist experience preferred
  • APhA Pharmacy Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or ability to acquire within 30 days
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days
  • Willingness to cover shifts at secondary retail location, including some weekends
  • Comfortable supervising pharmacy technician staff and adaptable across multiple locations
  • Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing skills
  • Open to travel and available for 13 weeks or longer; shorter contracts considered

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medications in compliance with protocols
  • Maintain precise patient medication profiles and ensure proper documentation
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and verify daily activities
  • Participate in medical emergency response efforts as part of the pharmacy team
  • Inspect medication storage areas and remove outdated medications
  • Orient and train new pharmacy team members
  • Uphold infection control standards throughout pharmacy operations
