Qualifications:
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential authorizing Visual Impairments or California teaching credential with authorization to teach visually handicapped students (EL CLAD)
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience in delivering individualized education to visually impaired students
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work onsite (position is not open to virtual or hybrid arrangements)
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and materials
- Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments
- Collaborate with educational teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Support staff and families in understanding and meeting the needs of visually impaired students
- Maintain thorough student records and progress reports
