Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Kansas Special Education teaching license required.
  • Prior experience working with middle school students in a resource or mild needs setting preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families.
  • Passion for guiding students with individualized instruction and accommodating diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student on the caseload.
  • Provide direct instruction and interventions tailored to students with mild disabilities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, making data-driven adjustments to instruction.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and compliance with state/federal regulations.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and service providers, fostering a team approach to student success.
  • Contribute actively to school meetings and professional development.
