Step into a rewarding contract opportunity on the beautiful Southeast Texas Coast, supporting students as a School Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the first six weeks of the upcoming school year. Help ensure that students receive quality speech and language services while district staff completes their observation hours for licensure.
This assignment requires up to four passionate SLPAs to collaborate closely with talented education professionals from August 10th to September 25th, working full-time for 35 hours each week. You’ll be providing crucial support at one or more campuses (final assignments will be confirmed soon) and working with a diverse caseload across school-age groups. The initial duration is six weeks, with the possibility for extension depending on district needs.
What you'll need to thrive:
- Active and current Texas SLPA license
- Ability to complete fingerprinting expeditiously for Texas credentialing requirements
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Experience or enthusiasm for working in a school environment
- Adaptability and willingness to jump into new settings quickly
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students' speech and language development under supervision of onsite SLPs
- Collaborating with educators and staff to further students' progress
