Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years OR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An exciting opportunity awaits for an experienced Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) with strong Operating Room skills. This 18-week contract position offers the chance to deliver high-level perioperative care and surgical assistance in a dynamic environment, beginning August 3, 2026.
Key Schedule Details:
- 10-hour mid shifts (6:30 am – 5:00 pm)
- Weekday call: End of shift until at least 11:00 pm, one day each week
- Call includes one continuous weekend (Friday 6:30 am – Monday 6:30 am) every six weeks
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current, active RN license
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (degree required)
- Certification as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum of two years’ recent OR nursing experience in the RNFA role
- Strong clinical knowledge of perioperative practices and procedures
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within the surgical team
- Flexibility to meet scheduled hours and participate in required call rotations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care as a first assistant in the operating room
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow OR staff to ensure safe and efficient surgical outcomes
- Perform preoperative and postoperative assessment and care planning
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
- Support circulating and scrub duties as needed within scope of practice

$3,999 - $4,216/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 40 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
