This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to enrich the lives and educational experiences of children and young adults from Pre-K through transition age. As a leader in vision-related services, you’ll collaborate with a dedicated team while mentoring and coaching colleagues, supporting best practices, and advocating for the resources everyone needs to succeed.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Professional Educator’s License (PEL) with appropriate visual impairment endorsement
- Master’s Degree in Education or related field
- A minimum of 5 years of school-based experience working with students who are visually impaired
- Fingerprinting required for credentialing
- Passion for mentoring, coaching, and supporting both new and returning staff
- Strong problem-solving skills, advocacy, and a collaborative mindset
- Willingness to travel between multiple school sites to meet the needs of your caseload
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative vision services to students ages Pre-K through transition
- Support families, staff, and schools to facilitate student access to the curriculum
- Provide mentoring, training, and ongoing professional development for vision services staff
- Serve as a key advocate and problem solver for students and staff
- Collaborate closely with colleagues and leadership to continually improve department practices
- Help set standards for excellence in vision educational services district-wide
