Gen Ed Teacher - Gurnee, Illinois

Bring your passion for music and education to an engaging contract opportunity delivering music classes to young learners in a vibrant, supportive elementary setting. Located at the Pre K–2 site near Gurnee, IL, this full-time role spans the 2024–2025 school year (August 17 to May 27, 2027). Inspire creativity while shaping students’ foundational understanding and love for music.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required
• Current Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate music endorsement(s)
• Background in curriculum design, lesson planning, and classroom instruction, particularly within music education
• Excellent communication abilities for clear teaching and collaboration with colleagues and parents
• Passion for engaging young students and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver music curriculum to Kindergarten through 2nd grade students in a classroom setting
• Adapt lessons and activities based on age-appropriate learning needs and district-guided standards
• Foster a creative, welcoming space where every child feels encouraged to participate and explore music
• Collaborate with other educators and administration to coordinate school and music events, and share resources
• Maintain accurate student progress records and provide regular updates to parents and staff
