Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of K-8 students through expert occupational therapy services across several North Chicago/Waukegan-area campuses. In this part-time contract role, you’ll deliver hands-on support for students, fostering physical, social, and academic success in a collaborative educational environment. With a flexible schedule totaling 20 hours per week across two or three days, you’ll have the autonomy to make a meaningful impact while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field from an accredited college or university
- Active Illinois licensure as an Occupational Therapist and registration with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations (IDFPR)
- At least three years of professional experience, specifically within a school-based setting
- Demonstrated skill in evaluating, planning, and implementing therapeutic interventions for school-aged children
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve K-8 students across two to three campuses, delivering evaluations and individualized interventions to support student learning and functional independence
- Develop, implement, and monitor therapy plans in alignment with IEP goals, collaborating closely with educators and family members
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and comply with state, district, and professional guidelines
- Participate in student support team meetings and contribute expertise to multidisciplinary teams
- Provide training and consultation to school staff regarding occupational therapy strategies
