Key Qualifications:

  • Active Orientation and Mobility Specialist certification
  • AVCREP or similar credential required
  • Fingerprint clearance in Texas, or willingness to complete this promptly
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting, supporting students from early childhood through adolescence (preferred)
  • Exceptional communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage caseloads across different school sites

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assess students’ orientation and mobility needs and develop tailored instructional plans
  • Deliver direct instruction to students to enhance safe and independent navigation skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and other service providers to integrate skills across educational environments
  • Maintain accurate records, complete necessary evaluations, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
  • Travel between assigned campuses (number of schools assigned will be confirmed)
  • Support district staff and administration in implementing O&M services and resources
