Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Louisiana Department of Education teaching certificate (non-temporary authority; candidates in process of obtaining certification cannot be considered)
• Demonstrated experience teaching science at the high school level is highly desired
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive, supportive atmosphere
• Willingness to meet district credentialing requirements, including background screening, drug testing, and fingerprinting
• Ready to begin on August 3, 2026, and commit through May 27, 2027
• Flexibility for assignment to one or more schools, as determined by the district

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality science instruction to high school students according to the school calendar (full-time, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch)
• Develop and execute lesson plans aligning with curriculum standards
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support students’ academic and social development
• Uphold all district and school policies relating to classroom instruction and student safety
