Instructional Aide in Yuba City, CA

Step into a rewarding contract role where you’ll make a difference in the educational journey of students by providing essential paraprofessional support. Two full-time positions are available for the upcoming academic year: one at the elementary level and another at the middle school level. These opportunities begin on August 12, 2026, and run through June 3, 2027.

Bring your sign language expertise to create accessible learning environments. Sought-after paraprofessionals for these openings will need to demonstrate fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) that goes beyond the basics, supporting students with varying communication needs across academic and social settings.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language, with the ability to communicate and interpret beyond finger spelling and basic signs
• Prior experience working in educational settings, particularly as a paraprofessional or instructional aide
• A passion for supporting students with unique needs and fostering inclusive classrooms
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
• Flexibility to adapt to the distinct needs of elementary or middle school students

Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in mainstream classrooms
• Facilitate communication between students and teachers/staff using advanced ASL skills
• Assist educators with instructional tasks and classroom management
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment to nurture student growth
• Support individual and small group learning
