Job Description
Share your expertise as a General Education Health Teacher in a supportive, engaging junior high environment. This contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year, providing consistent weekly hours at an on-site location near Cicero, IL. Key Qualifications:
- Active teaching license and Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Background in general education preferred, with health education experience a plus
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to cultivate a safe and inclusive classroom environment
- Commitment to in-person teaching; virtual/remote instruction not permitted
What You'll Do:
- Deliver comprehensive health education lessons to junior high students following established curriculum guidelines
- Develop engaging instructional materials and adapt teaching to meet diverse student needs
- Foster a classroom environment that promotes healthy choices and student well-being
- Assess, monitor, and document student progress, providing feedback and support as appropriate
- Collaborate with colleagues and school staff to support student achievement
- Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress
Position Details:
- Contract duration: August 17, 2026 – May 21, 2027
- On-site role at a junior high campus
- 33.75 hours per week, with a balanced and predictable schedule
