Empower students with visual impairments to succeed in an engaging educational setting! A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide impactful services to elementary and middle school students near Elgin, IL. As part of a supportive educational community, you’ll travel to multiple school sites, making a difference in students’ academic and personal growth each day.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with TVI endorsement
  • Previous experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired preferred
  • Familiarity with itinerant service delivery models and adapting instruction for a range of visual needs
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to consult with staff, students, and families
  • Organized, resourceful, and committed to fostering independence through quality instruction

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide itinerant TVI services to elementary and middle school students, supporting access to the curriculum
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Deliver both direct and consultative services, modifying materials and instructional strategies as needed
  • Train and assist staff regarding accommodations, adaptive technology, and best practices
  • Serve as an advocate for students’ inclusion, independence, and success in school settings

This is a part-time, onsite position for the 2026-2027 academic year, spanning August through May. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated team in a rewarding and collaborative environment.
