Job Description
A hospital in Kerrville, TX, is seeking a Pharmacist with strong clinical expertise to support pharmacy operations at their 120-bed community facility. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital setting with advanced technology systems and a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will have a Texas pharmacist license and previous hospital experience, particularly with decentralized ICU responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical pharmacy services, with an emphasis on ICU and decentralized care.
- Collaborate closely with medical staff to optimize patient medication therapy.
- Utilize hospital IT systems including Meditech, MedKeeper for IV management, and Omnicell automation.
- Participate in day-to-day pharmacy operations, ensuring accuracy and safety in medication dispensing.
- Contribute to medication education and monitoring for patients and staff.
- Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards.
- Support weekend coverage on a rotating basis.
Qualifications:
- Active pharmacist license in Texas.
- Clinical hospital pharmacy experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with decentralized ICU pharmacy services is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with Meditech, MedKeeper, and Omnicell systems.
- Flexibility to work primarily Monday to Friday day shifts with every 4th weekend coverage.
- Ability to adapt schedule if shifted to second shifts (10-hour shifts from 11:45 am to 10:15 pm).
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, day shifts starting between 7 am and 9 am.
- Coverage every fourth weekend.
- Possible shift to second shift (11:45 am – 10:15 pm) in the future.
