Enjoy a flexible, part-time schedule working two days per week, totaling 16 hours, from August 17th, 2026, through June 4th, 2027. Contribute your skills and knowledge as part of a collaborative team that values each student's unique abilities and learning style.
What you bring:
- Current North Carolina DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) teaching license
- Background in deaf education, including American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency
- Experience or training in assessments, IEP development, and progress monitoring for DHH students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to use assistive technology and adapt curriculum to support student access and participation
Your role will include:
- Providing direct instruction and support for deaf/hard of hearing students, individually or in small groups
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring IEP accommodations and modifications
- Collaborating with general education teachers and specialists to support inclusive practices
- Liaising with families to foster effective home-school communication and advocacy
- Maintaining accurate documentation of services and progress
- Offering consultative services, resources, and strategies to educational staff as needed
