This contract opportunity calls for a dedicated educator with expertise in deaf education and a passion for fostering communication and academic growth for students with hearing challenges.

Enjoy a flexible, part-time schedule working two days per week, totaling 16 hours, from August 17th, 2026, through June 4th, 2027. Contribute your skills and knowledge as part of a collaborative team that values each student's unique abilities and learning style.

What you bring:

  • Current North Carolina DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) teaching license
  • Background in deaf education, including American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency
  • Experience or training in assessments, IEP development, and progress monitoring for DHH students
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to use assistive technology and adapt curriculum to support student access and participation

Your role will include:

  • Providing direct instruction and support for deaf/hard of hearing students, individually or in small groups
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring IEP accommodations and modifications
  • Collaborating with general education teachers and specialists to support inclusive practices
  • Liaising with families to foster effective home-school communication and advocacy
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of services and progress
  • Offering consultative services, resources, and strategies to educational staff as needed
