Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students and staff in a dynamic school setting, with a focus on assistive technology. This key role as a Speech-Language Pathologist runs from August 12 through November 3, offering a consistent daytime schedule from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a full 7.5-hour workday including lunch. You'll be based primarily in Buffalo Grove, IL, and will travel between seven schools within District 96, encompassing both Buffalo Grove and Long Grove.
This position is ideal for clinicians who thrive on variety and teamwork rather than managing a specific caseload. Your mission will revolve around providing staff support, conducting evaluations, and leveraging your expertise in assistive technology to help students succeed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active SLP-CCC or eligible Clinical Fellow (CFY)
- Hold (or be eligible for) Illinois state licensure
- School-based SLP experience is highly preferred
- Interest or background in assistive technology is a plus
- Excellent organizational, collaboration, and communication skills
- Ability to travel between multiple school sites within a day
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and train school staff in the use of assistive technology for communication
- Conduct evaluations related to assistive technology and speech/language needs
- Collaborate with educational teams to develop strategies for student intervention
- Provide guidance to ensure best practices in augmentative/alternative communication
- Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
Compensation for this contract role is competitive, starting at $45+ per hour based on experience.
