Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A pharmacy in the Minneapolis area is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for an 8-week contract position starting ASAP. This role requires flexibility to work rotating shifts between 9:30 AM and 8:30 PM, including weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and in compliance with legal requirements
- Monitor patient medication adherence and detect patterns of over-usage
- Ensure prescribed medicines are appropriate and safe for patients
- Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files meticulously
- Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions
- Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on the correct use and maintenance of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions according to protocol
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks
- Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory efficiently
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare practitioners to resolve drug-related patient issues
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- MN pharmacist license in hand
- Willingness to accept and train retail pharmacists
- Competency in supervising staff and handling patient consultations
