Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to provide inpatient pharmaceutical care in a hospital setting. This 13-week contract position offers flexibility with evening or overnight shifts at a Chesapeake, VA medical facility.

Shifts (Choose One):

  • Evening: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
  • Overnight: Monday–Thursday 8:30 PM – 7:30 AM; Friday–Sunday 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM (7 nights on, 7 nights off)
Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to inpatients including medication order verification and order entry
  • Manage and monitor IV medications, pain-controlled analgesia, antibiotics, and drug interactions
  • Participate in dose adjustments based on pharmacokinetics and renal function when applicable
  • Handle anticoagulants and chemotherapy medications (preferred experience)
  • Utilize EPIC electronic medical record system for medication documentation and charting
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Must hold an active Virginia pharmacist license at time of application
  • Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience; travel pharmacy experience preferred
  • Solid knowledge of IV therapy, analgesics, antibiotics, and medication safety
  • Experience with EPIC EMR system is required
  • Ability to work independently with strong clinical judgment
