Step into an exciting opportunity guiding young minds as a 6th Grade Science Teacher in a vibrant middle school setting near Waukegan, IL. This full-time, onsite role spans the academic year from August 17th through May 27th, 2027, focusing on foundational science concepts and nurturing curiosity among enthusiastic sixth graders. Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field
- Current Illinois Professional Educator License with the appropriate endorsement(s)
- Proven experience with curriculum design, lesson planning, and targeted instruction
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Passion for inspiring middle school students and making scientific concepts approachable and exciting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging 6th-grade science curriculum aligned with state standards
- Utilize differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment conducive to learning
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary opportunities within the school
- Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and support for growth
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to encourage academic achievement
