What You'll Bring:
- Current LA Math Educator Certificate, authorized for high school grade levels
- Previous experience teaching general education mathematics, with a strong preference for experience at the high school level
- Deep content expertise in Algebra I and a commitment to differentiated instruction
- Strong classroom management skills and an ability to foster an inclusive, positive learning atmosphere
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach within a contract role
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective Algebra I instruction to high school students
- Develop lesson plans and assessments aligned with curriculum standards and student learning objectives
- Support the academic, social, and emotional growth of every learner
- Implement data-driven teaching strategies and regularly assess student progress
- Collaborate with other educators to ensure consistency and high-quality learning experiences
- Participate in professional development and faculty meetings as needed
You’ll work a full-time schedule (35 hours/week) onsite through the school year, cultivating both your teaching practice and your students’ mathematical understanding in a supportive environment.
