Occupational Therapist School Setting - Newark, DE

Enhance the educational experience for young learners as a dedicated Occupational Therapist in a supportive school environment near Newark, DE. This full-time contract position is designed for a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide critical services during a maternity leave and continue with essential evaluations and direct interventions for students aged preschool through elementary. The role is strictly onsite, allowing you to collaborate closely with students, educators, and support teams to make a meaningful impact.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering occupational therapy services to students, supporting their access to education and participation in school activities
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations and assessments at both the elementary school and Early Learning Center (ELC)
• Developing and implementing individualized intervention plans tailored to students’ needs
• Collaborating with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to monitor progress and adjust therapeutic interventions as needed
• Maintaining accurate, up-to-date documentation in compliance with school and professional guidelines

Qualifications we are seeking:

• Active, valid Occupational Therapist license
• Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency with evaluations and direct service delivery for preschool and elementary-age populations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to working onsite five days per week (COTAs will not be considered for this opportunity)

This assignment runs from August 24, 2026, through June 16, 2027, with a 37.5-hour week, Monday through Friday. Initially, you’ll split your time between the elementary school and ELC, then transition to a full-time schedule exclusively at the ELC after the maternity leave period.
