The Cardiovascular Tech is responsible for performing of EKG's, application and processing of cardiac monitors and general office duties.. Their primary duties include setting up and maintaining EKG equipment, performing cardiovascular tests, identifying heart rhythms , and effectively communicating with physicians and patients.\nPosition Details:

\nSchedule: Part-Time/PRN
\n Shift: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
\n Days: Monday – Sunday (Varies)
Make a Difference in Cardiovascular Patient Care
\nMercy Hospital Springfield is seeking a Cardiovascular Technician to join our Respiratory team on a PRN day shift basis. In this role, you'll work closely with physicians, nurses, and patients to provide high-quality cardiovascular diagnostic testing and monitoring while helping ensure exceptional patient care and outcomes.

\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and identify heart rhythms \n
- Prepare patients and apply cardiac monitoring devices \n
- Educate patients on the proper use and care of cardiac monitors \n
- Process, maintain, and document cardiac monitor tracings and test results \n
- Communicate monitor findings promptly with ordering and corresponding physicians \n
- Assist with patient scheduling and maintain accurate documentation \n
- Support physicians and clinical staff with patient flow, chart preparation, and other patient care activities \n
- Perform routine maintenance on cardiovascular equipment and report issues to Biomedical Engineering \n
- Room patients and obtain vital signs \n
- Clean and maintain TEE probes and TEE probe cleaning equipment, as applicable \n
- Monitor, stock, and organize supplies while checking expiration dates \n
- Complete additional duties as assigned \n
Qualifications
\nRequired
\nEducation
\n- \n
- High school diploma or equivalent \n
Certification
\n- \n
- Basic Life Support (BLS) \n
Skills
\n- \n
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English \n
- Basic computer proficiency \n
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills \n
- Ability to work effectively with patients, providers, and clinical teams \n
Preferred
\nExperience
\n- \n
- One year of related healthcare experience \n
- Previous on-the-job training or training through an Allied Health program \n
Certifications
\n- \n
- Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) through CCI \n
- Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) through CCI \n
- Certified EKG Technician (CET) through American Allied Health \n
Additional Qualifications
\n- \n
- Additional language skills are a plus \n
